At-Risk Learner Early Referral Tool (A.L.E.R.T.)

The At-Risk Learner Early Referral Tool (A.L.E.R.T.) is a tool that you can use to refer specific at-risk students to their Student Success Specialist (SSS) for support. You can access the A.L.E.R.T. form from your Brightspace profile.

The Benefits of A.L.E.R.T.

Referring at-risk students for support allows you to help students access support when you notice that they are experiencing challenges. Some of the most common benefits of A.L.E.R.T. are:

  • Provides students with faster support from their Student Success Specialist
  • Provides students quick access to services and resources to allow the students to focus on their academics
  • Streamlines the referral process for you as a faculty member in the following ways:
    • It allows you to quickly send the referral to the Student Success Specialist, as the form can be completed in less than a minute.
    • The system automatically directs your referral to the correct SSS.
    • You can include the reasons for the referral by choosing from a list of reasons for concern and adding your comments.
