Tech Tools

In this section, you will find online tools and apps to assist you with studying, collaborating online, presenting, website creation/coding, and social media. Even better, most of these tech tools are provided free of charge. Click the links below for a brief description of each tool.

Tools

Online Collaboration

Meeting Online:

  • Zoom. Meet online through video, send documents, collaborate on shared notes, and share your screen. 
  • Teams. Make video or audio calls, chat online, send documents, share your screen, and create shared spaces for your groups. You have access to Teams through your student email.  

File Sharing with the Cloud:

  • Dropbox. Upload, store, and share your documents online. 
  • Google Drive. Create, store, share, edit, and collaborate on documents online. 
  • Microsoft OneDrive. Log in with your Algonquin email account to store, create, share, and edit documents. 

Study Tools

Notetaking:

  • OneNote. Create digital notebooks with notes, images, audio, etc.
  • Google Docs. Create and collaborate on notes online.

To-Do Lists:

  • Microsoft To-Do. Create and reorganize simple to-do lists. This app can also be accessed through your student email/Microsoft 365 account.
  • Any.do. Create to-do lists and set reminders for specific times and places.
  • Todoist.Keep to-do lists, set reminders, and review the day or week ahead.

Presentations

Slideshows:

  • Google Slides. Create slides, share them, and collaborate with others online. 
  • Powtoon. Create animated slideshows and videos with this online tool and built-in graphics. 
  • Prezi. Create presentations that move around one canvas instead of traditional slides.

Free Coaching
